Description
11" (28 cm). Having a pale bisque shoulderhead with oval-shaped face and stout elongated throat, blonde sculpted hair arranged with two sets of elaborately rolled curls at the forehead, clusters of curls above the fully modeled pierced ears, and a cluster of captured ringlet curls at the back of the head, with a blue headband at the crown and two black head bands at the back of the head. The doll has pale blue painted eyes, black upper eyeliner, single-stroke brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth and accent line between the lips. She has a kid fashion body in the French manner with one-piece shapely torso and legs, stitch-jointed shoulders and defined fingers. The doll wears very finely detailed antique white lawn gown with tiered pleats at bodice, sleeves and hemline, undergarments and slippers. Germany, probably for the French market, circa 1870.
