Description
23" (58 cm). Of very slightly-pink-tinted
porcelain, with oval shaped face uplifted and
turned to the left in an expectant manner, very
slender elongated throat, deeply sloping
shoulders, the doll has black sculpted hair in
center-part with deeply sculpted curls overall
the head, fully sculpted ears, shaded blue eyes
with white eye-dots, red and black upper
eyeliner, single stroke brows, circle accents at
nostrils, closed mouth with center accent line,
six sew holes, old muslin body with leather arms
and legs, sewn-on blue striped stockings and tan
leather boots. The costume is of patterned brown
silk with embroidered braid, undergarments,
wearing locket, and carrying wooden-handled
parasol. The doll is marked _E_ (in script)
and _7_ inside the shoulder plate and _S_ red
lettered script. Circa 1870. There is a small
chip at one front sew hole. From the Collection
