Description
12" (30cm). Of classic Huret design, having
twisted metal framework with gilded finish, the
arched back armchair has original maroon velvet
upholstery over wooden seat frame. The underside
of the seat is stamped _Huret Ó Paris_
and _Meubles & Fantasies en Fer Forge/pour
Poupees/Huret (indecipherable)/ 22 Boul.
Montmartre_. The Huret family, whose principle
enterprise was iron garden and salon furniture,
also made miniature versions of this furniture
specifically designed for the Huret poupee. Circa
1865.
