Description
Entirely hand-stitched, the green and black silk faille dress is a vibrant pattern of stripes and bands. Its rounded neckline is edged by two wide bretelles that extend to form a wide collar at the back, and join with two lappets at the front skirt. The sleevelets are box pleated and widen at the edge, and the skirt is cartridge pleated. The neckline is bordered by rich dark green velvet and the sleevelets, bretelles and lappets are edged with emerald green fringe. The bodice is muslin lined, the waist is band-shaped on the inside, and there are three hook and loop closures. Circa 1860. Appropriately sized for 15"_17" poupee
