Description
Of soft sienna brown kidskin, the purse-shaped
necessaire has decorative silk band on the
exterior along with brown silk dangling tassels
and an ornate gold-leafed clasp. It unfolds flat
with silk-fringed sides, designed to protect a
precious object. Presented in its original green
paper box with gilt edging and colored early
engraving. 3"L. Circa 1865.
