Description
18" (46 cm). Of very thick hand-pressed porcelain with tan flesh-tinted complexion, solid dome with three sew holes for brunette human hair wig, slender facial modeling with face inclined forward, sloping shoulders with slightly modeled bosom and five sew holes, painted blue eyes with red and black upper eyeliner, black single stroke brows, closed mouth with richly shaded lips, blushed cheeks, muslin stitch-jointed body, flesh- tinted porcelain arms and legs with four sew holes on each, bare feet. The doll wears a royal blue taffeta gown and cap, undergarments, stockings, shoes. The doll is marked _S_ inside the shoulderplate. Attributed to Schlaggenwald, circa 1850.
