Description
23" (58 cm). Of fine lustrous porcelain with pink
tinted complexion and hand-pressed sculpting, the
doll has a plump oval face with uniquely shaped
nose, inset sculpting of eye sockets, hint of
double chin, stout throat and deeply sloping
shoulders. Her black sculpted hair is center-
parted and comb-marked with uniform finger curls
around the head. She has pale blue upper glancing
eyes with darker blue rims around the irises,
black upper eyeliner, single stroke brows,
accented nostrils, primly shaped closed mouth and
blushed cheeks. On her early muslin stitch-
jointed body the doll wears a brown silk two-
piece gown with lace trim, and undergarments.
Marked _13 H (script)_. Circa 1865. From the
Collection of Mildred Seeley.
