29" (74 cm). The superbly sculpted bisque lady has hand-pressed swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate, oval shaped face with elongated throat, blue glass inset eyes with modeled upper eyelids, thick black eyeliner, painted dark lashes, arched multi-feathered brows, mauve blushed eye shadow, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with superbly detailed shaded and outlined lips, sculpted philtrum and lip corners, separately applied pierced ears, and original hand-tied brunette human hair over cork pate. The kid fashion body is shapely, with defined waist and derriere, gusset jointing at elbows, hips and knees, with stitched and separated fingers and toes. The doll wears antique costume comprising laced blue velvet vest over white blouse, changeable-color taffeta silk skirt with blue silk ribbons dotted with black velvet, undergarments, leather shoes, black velvet bonnet with lace trim. The doll is attributed to Pierre-Francois Jumeau, circa 1867, the extremely rare and exquisite portrait face may be one of the twenty unique models he proposed to exhibit at the 1867 Exposition Universelle in Paris.
