Description
Meticulous hand-cast frame with silver and brass
finish has spring frame allowing perfect fit
adjustment to nose, and a loop for attachment to
hanging chain. The glass is green for one eye and
blue for the other. The two-colors of glass, the
beveled edges and superb frame construction
suggest that the very rare miniature pince-nez
was made as a maitrese model. The pince-nez is
presented in early moirë-paper box with label of
Oscar Buttner, Juwelier, of Strasbourg. 1 1/2"W.
Circa 1860.
