Description

Of crisp black silk taffeta, the two-piece gown features a fitted bodice with five self-covered buttons and handmade button holes, long sleeves with gathered cuff band and rose sateen edging; along with full skirt having flat front, gathered back, two gathered bands of ruffles at the hemline each edged with rose sateen banding. There is an attached sash with matching trim with back bustle ruffle. Along with an elaborate wire- framed bonnet or headdress of delicate black velvet ribbons and lace edging, trimmed with rose petals. Appropriately sized for 13"-14" lady doll or poupee. Circa 1867.
