Description
18" (46 cm). Composition wood-pulp shoulderhead
depicting an older child with rounded facial
modeling and sculpted features, large green
painted eyes, dark and red eyeliner, single
stroke faint brows, accented nostrils, closed
mouth with accent line between the lips, brunette
mohair wig, softly stuffed nylon stockinette
body, green cotton frock with tan trim (the dress
labeled "This is Model #10"). Condition: face
excellent, the shoulderplate has been rebuilt.
Marks: Dewees Cochran Doll c. 1935 (cloth tag on
doll) (costume also tagged). Comments: one of the
earliest models of Cochran dolls, the doll was
discussed in her book, "As If They Might Speak",
p. 19, c.1935. Value Points: very rare model of
Cochran doll with most pleasing facial painting
and sculpture, unusual green eyes.
