Pressed bisque socket head with long- faced modeling and plump cheeks, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, brushstroked and multi-feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with shaded and accented lips, separately applied and pierced ears, hand-tied brunette waist-length human hair wig over cork pate, French composition and wooden eight-loose-ball- jointed body with straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 11 (head) Jumeau Medaille díOr Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, his signature portrait model with wistful expression known as Bebe Triste, circa 1885. Value Points: beautiful example of the desirable and rare model with finest quality of bisque, original body and body finish, antique costume.
