Description
22" (56 cm). Bisque swivel head on kid-edged
bisque shoulderplate, brown glass paperweight
inset eyes, dark eyeliner encircles the eyecut,
painted lashes, brushstroked and multi-feathered
brows, accented eye corners, rose-blushed
eyeshadow, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with
tiny modeled tongue tip between the shaded and
outlined lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig
over cork pate, Gesland body of metal armature
under padded stockinette, wooden lower arms and
legs, rose brocade costume included. Condition:
generally excellent. Marks: F.9 G. (block
letters, head) Gesland (blue stamp on body).
Comments: Francois Gaultier, circa 1884. Value
Points: outstanding quality of modeling and
bisque on the early model Gaultier bebe, having
rarer Gesland style body.
