Description
12" (30 cm). Solid domed porcelain swivel head with sculpted and painted brown hair waved away from face, behind the sculpted ears, into short curls and held by gold painted headband, with cloth midriff disguising "mama" bellows crier, porcelain lower torso, cloth upper legs, porcelain lower arms and legs. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany, circa 1860. Value Points: wonderfully characterized impish face, rare brown hair with headband, all original parts, working "mama" crier, rare taufling crier body, original costume including straw bourrelet cap to protect the head of young child just learning to walk.
