Description
19"H. 17"W. The wooden dressing table with bottom
shelf and double towel bars is constructed with
oval hole at the top into which is fitted a
French faience washbowl and pitcher, along with
matching lidded jar, and brush and mirror. The
bowl is double-sided with handle at the center
and is decorated with delicate pastel scenes of
Kate Greenaway style children in a large variety
of scenes. Condition: generally excellent. Marks:
(Sarreguemines marking on each pottery and on an
enameled button at the front of the table).
Comments: from the French faience firm, the
popular dressing table was offered in Paris
stores, circa 1890. Value Points: rare and nicely
preserved ensemble with wonderfully decorated
scenes.
