Description
24" (61 cm). Pressed bisque socket head, dark
blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner
encircles the eyecuts, painted lashes, mauve
blushed eyeshadow, brushstroked and multi-
feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded
nostrils, closed mouth with defined space between
the shaded and outlined lips, separately modeled
pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate,
French composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-
jointed body with straight wrists and very plump
limbs. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 9
E.J. (head) Jumeau Medaille díOr Paris (body).
Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1882, the first
version of the E.J. bebe. Value Points: rare size
9 model has superlative bisque and painting,
original body and body finish, antique cutwork
and embroidered dress, undergarments, leather
shoes, socks.
