Description
Of rich sienna velvet with ivory silk lining, the
manís court costume features a long jacket with
gilt metal embroidery along the front edges and
sleeves, along with matching short trousers with
tassels at knees. There is an accompanying ivory
silk faille cape with faux-ermine trim and
extended train, richly embroidered with gilt
threads including symbol of crown, and tied with
gold tassels. There is a silk-lined matching cap.
The height of the jacket and pants, assembled, is
14". Late 18th century. Excellent condition.
