23" (58 cm). Pressed bisque socket head, large blue glass enamel paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner encircles the eyecut, painted dark lashes, mauve blushed eyeshadow, brushstroked and multi-feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with defined space between the shaded and outlined lips, brunette human hair over cork pate, French composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed body with straight wrists, dress in antique fabrics of turquoise silk with lace trim, bebe pin, antique straw bonnet with aqua chiffon, undergarments, stockings, leather shoes signed Paris Depose 11. Condition: generally excellent, body repainted. Marks: 11 (head) Jumeau Medaille dÌOr Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau, circa 1884, his sad-faced bebe known as Bebe Triste. Value Points: gorgeous bisque enhanced by elongated full cheeks, large eyes, separately modeled and applied ears with blush detail.
