Description
13" (33 cm). Light brown tinted bisque
shoulderhead with deeply sculpted facial features
portraying a saddened aged man including gaunt
cheekbones and incised age lines, painted small
eyes with heavily modeled eyelids, strong nose,
closed mouth with downcast lips, white mohair
wig, brown muslin body with paper mache hands,
kidskin costume with beaded decorations.
Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Heubach
(square) 9487 Germany (head) Hand-Stuffed Made in
Germany (body). Comments: Gebruder Heubach, circa
1910. Value Points: very rare portrait model of
historical figure has superb modeling details,
finely preserved condition.
