Description
11 1/2" (29 cm). Pressed bisque socket head with
rounded facial modeling, blue glass enamel inset
eyes with spiral threading and darker blue outer
rims, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented
nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with
accented pale lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair
wig over original Schmitt pate, French
composition and wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed
body with flat-cut derriere, straight wrists.
Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Bte. SGDG
3/0 (head) Sch (in shield, on derriere).
Comments: Schmitt et Fils, circa 1880. Value
Points: most endearing petite bebe has superb
quality of bisque and painting, original pate,
body, body finish, antique aqua silk dress and
matching bonnet may be original, undergarments,
shoes and socks.
