6 1/2" doll. Solid domed paper mache shoulderhead
with black painted pate, painted facial features,
teal blue eyes, closed mouth, French pink kid
fashion body with hand-stitchings, straight arms
and legs, mitten hands, separate thumbs.
Condition: generally excellent. Comments: French,
circa 1840. Value Points: the rare petite doll
wears original hand-made dress with matching
pantalets, tiny leather shoes with ankle ties,
and is contained in her original canvas-covered
trunk with white dimity dress with matching
pantalets, purple velvet hooded cape, blue and
white checkered dress, white shirt with short
trousers, white woolen skirt with matching long
fitted jacket, bonnet.
