Description
20" (51 cm). Bisque shoulderhead of adult woman
with slender facial modeling, uptilted face in
haughty manner, elongated throat and defined
shoulderblades, blue glass sleep eyes, heavily
modeled eyelids, mohair lashes, painted lower
lashes, accented nostrils and eye corners,
lightly feathered brows, blonde mohair wig over
plaster pate, kid body uniquely designed for this
doll with more slender shaping, bosom darts,
bisque forearms. Condition: generally excellent.
Marks: 172 7. Comments: Kestner, circa 1910,
based upon the drawings of society women by
Charles Dana Gibson that were popular in America
at that time. Value Points: very fine example of
the rare doll with choice bisque, original
distintive body, lovely silk costume, decorative
details unique to Gibson Girl model including ear
accent dots.
