Description
21" (53 cm). Felt swivel head with pressed and
painted facial features, oil-glazed highlights on
brown side-glancing googly eyes, painted upper
lashes, smoky eyeshadow, accented nostrils, "O"
shaped mouth, auburn mohair curly wig, felt body
jointed at shoulders and hips, spread fingers.
Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Lenci
Turin Made in Italy (foot stamp). Comments: The
doll, representing Autumn, appeared in the 1939
Lenci catalog; it was a variation on the Autumn
model of the Four Seasons ladies that had
appeared in 1931. Value Points: very rare and
captivating model with fabulous hair, original
organdy peach and green leaf-colored multi-tiered
dress designed to suggest falling leaves,
ornamented with cascading clusters of fruits and
berries.
