16" (40 cm). Bisque socket head with highly characterized facial model, small brown glass "flirty" eyes, thickly fringed upper lashes, modeled comma shaped brows, rounded pug nose, closed mouth with very wide beaming smile, shaded lips, double rows of laughter creases around the mouth, dimple above the upper lip, laughter lines by the eyes. auburn human hair, composition fully jointed body modeled uniquely for this doll with painted white socks and brown sculpted shoes, antique woolen suit. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: "Max", by Kammer and Reinhardt, from their 100 character series, the doll was introduced in 1913, advertised as having "rogueish eyes", based upon the stories of Wilhelm Busch. Value Points: very rare character model with superb modeling of facial features, well-functioning original flirty eyes, original unique body.
