17" (43 cm). Carved wooden pantin with
articulated shoulders, hips and knees that are
activated by pulling torso strings has rare
double-sided carving and painting, each side
depicting a different character with variations
in expression and costume details. Condition:
generally excellent, some retouch to original
painted finish. Comments: Germany, mid-19th
century. Value Points: rarity factors include
large size and actual sculpting of facial
features and hair.
