Description
5"-6" (13-15 cm). Of earthenware with gesso and
delicately painted finish the figures depict a
gentleman holding a child, a man and woman
clasping hands, a woman with hand raised as
though in greeting, another woman, and a dog with
frog, each with meticulously painted facial
features and costumes. The character expressions
of the faces are especially strong and artistic.
Germany, mid-19th century. Excellent condition.
