Description
22" (56 cm). Bisque swivel head on kid-edged
bisque shoulderplate with modeled bosom and
shoulderblades, deep blue glass paperweight inset
eyes, dark eyeliner encircles the eye sockets,
painted lashes, brushstroked and multi-feathered
brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils,
closed mouth with shaded and accented lips,
dimpled chin, pierced ears, brunette human hair
over cork pate, original kid body with gusset-
jointing at hips and knees, kid-over-wooden upper
arms, bisque forearms with well sculpted fingers,
French style silk costume of the era, antique
undergarments and shoes. Condition: generally
excellent, one finger restored, flake at pierced
ear hole. Marks: 8 (shoulder)(remnants of
original paper label on torso). Comments: Leon
Casimir Bru, circa 1882. Value Points: very
beautiful early Bru bebe with classic face,
superb detail of modeling and painting, choicest
bisque, original body in sturdy condition.
