Description
19" (48 cm). Pressed bisque socket head with
elongated facial modeling, blue glass enamel
inset eyes, dark eyeliner, lightly painted
lashes, brushstroked brows with feathered
details, accented nostrils, mauve blushed
eyeshadow, closed mouth with shaded and
outlined
lips, pierced ears, blonde lambswool wig over
Schmitt plaster pate, original composition and
wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed body with
straight wrists and flat-cut derriere. Condition:
generally excellent. Marks: 9 Sch (in shield on
head) (partial Sch mark on bottom derriere).
Comments: Schmitt et Fils, circa 1880, the
model
closely resembles the E.J.A. bebe by Emile
Jumeau
but is unusual in this smaller size. Value
Points: rare size Schmitt with appealing
character expression, fine quality bisque,
original body and body finish.
