Description
12" (30 cm). Bisque swivel head on kid-edged
bisque shoulderplate with modeled bosom, brown
glass enamel inset eyes, painted lashes,
brushstroked and feathered brows, accented
nostrils and eye corners, open mouth with shaded
and accented lips, pierced ears, brunette human
hair over cork pate, original kid bebe body with
gusset jointing at hips and knees, curved kid
upper arms, bisque forearms with detailed
sculpting of fingers, rose silk costume and
bonnet. Condition: generally excellent, body
quite sturdy, one finger tip chipped. Marks: 2.
Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1880, an early
version of the nursing Bru bebe marketed as Bebe
Teteur, nursing mechanism and turn screw are
complete. Value Points: most appealing petite
bebe has choice bisque and painting, very sturdy
original body.
