Description
18" (46 cm). Bisque swivel head on kid-edged
bisque shoulderplate, blue glass inset eyes, dark
painted eyeliner, delicately painted lashes and
brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed
mouth with delicately accented lips, pierced
ears, brunette human hair over cork pate,
original all-wooden poupee body with dowel-
jointed articulation at shoulders, elbows, hips
and knees, swivel wrists. Condition: generally
excellent, slight repair to right upper arm.
Marks: 4. Comments: circa 1870. Value Points: the
rare wooden-bodied poupee has choice bisque,
superb articulated wooden body, and wears antique
green taffeta gown, undergarments, bonnet, shoes
and carries a wonderful wooden-handled black silk
parasol.
