Description
22" (56 cm). Pale bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, rounded facial modeling, cobalt blue glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner encircles the eyecut, painted lashes, feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with outlined lips, ears pierced into head, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, kid fashion body with gusset jointing at elbows, hips and knees, separately stitched fingers and toes, black silk costume. Condition: generally excellent, re- stitch at right kid elbow. Marks: J. Paquet, no 25 & 27, Passage Vero Dodat, pres le Palais Royal et Rue de Rivoli, Jouets d'enfants, tabletterie, jeux divers, ebeniste (paper label on torso). Comments: attributed to Blampoix, circa 1860, sold at the respected boutique of Paquet. Value Points: brilliant eyes contrast the delicate bisque on the larger poupee with original boutique label.
