Description
24" armoire (61 cm). 12" doll (30 cm). A wooden
two-door armoire with curved crest and richly
carved detailing opens to reveal well-fitted
interior with lace-edged shelving filled with
neatly folded linens tied with blue silk ribbons.
Posted at the interior is a bisque head doll with
blue glass eyes, closed mouth, single stroke
brows, brunette mohair wig, five piece paper
mache body, signed G.D. Paris. Condition:
generally excellent. Comments: presentation
armoire for Paris holiday catalog from
prestigious department store such as Au Louvre or
Samaritaine, circa 1895. Value Points: superb
unplayed with condition of the rare presentation,
the doll wearing chemise with blue silk ribbon
trim.
