Description
11" (28 cm). Standing upon a tinplate three-
wheeled base is a bisque headed doll with
partially sculpted hair and cut pate, blue glass
enamel inset eyes, painted lashes and brows,
accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth,
shapely torso and legs of carton, wire upper
arms, metal hands. When wound the doll moves
forward and glides in circles, waving arms.
Condition: generally excellent, original costume
a bit frail. Comments: Vichy, circa 1865. Value
Points: rare early mechanical toy with unusual
sculpting of hair, original (frail) costume.
