20" (51 cm). Bisque socket head with ebony black complexion and highly characterized features, brown glass inset eyes, black feathered brows with modeling details, closed mouth with coral painted lips, pierced ears, black mohair wig, black composition and wooden ball-jointed body, antique costume, undergarments, straw bonnet. Condition: generally excellent, some body paint retouch. Marks: 8 1/2 1301 Dep S&H. Comments: Simon and Halbig, circa 1910. Value Points: extraordinary detail of sculpting, portraying a pouty faced child with details of frown lines on forehead, prominent cheek bones, strong jaw and chin lines, defined indentations at lip corners and philtrum, superb quality of bisque with lustrous patina enhancing the rich complexion.
