Description
14" (35 cm). Portraying a young boy and girl, the
composition dolls have painted facial features on
uniquely shaped faces with wide cheek bones that
accentuate their beaming smiles, painted brown or
blue eyes, accented nostrils, blushed eye shadow
and cheeks, closed mouth, mohair wigs, carton
torso containing clockwork mechanism, composition
hands and lower legs. Condition: generally
excellent, boy's hair is sparse, girl's leggings
are moth worn. Comments: the school children were
designed by Poulbot for Roullet et Decamps, circa
1910, when keywound they sway back and forth in
comical manner. Value Points: rare dolls are
wonderfully preserved in original costumes and
finish, with artfully designed facial features
and posture.
