20" (51 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate with modeled bosom and shoulderblades, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, thick dark eyeliner, painted curly lashes, mauve-blushed eyeshadow, brushstroked and multi-feathered brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with pale accented lips, pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork pate, blonde mohair wig in soft original curls, kid bebe body with gusset-jointing at hips and knees, bisque forearms. Condition: excellent except left ear lob flake, two restored fingers on right hand, body is firm with some patching of kid. Marks: Bru Jne 7 (head and shoulders). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru, circa 1882, beautiful transitional bebe between the brevete model and the classic Bru Jne. Value Points: the enchanting look of the Bru bebe is wonderfully captured here, and enhanced by delicate complexion with softest blushing, antique dress (may be original) and lace bonnet, undergarments, stockings, and cream kidskin shoes signed "Bru Jne Paris" in oval.
