Description
each about 5" width. Of earthenware with gesso
and delicately painted finish, depicted is a
grandfather seated on a bench with boy and girl,
mother hen and baby chicks surrounding them; and
a young lad and girl seated on tree stump having
lunch while a dog clamors a bite of bread. The
details of each scene are superbly executed in
theme and emotion. Excellent condition, one ear
of dog is broken. Germany, mid-19th century.
