Description
15" (38 cm). Very firm paper sculpted face with
defined character and age lines, strong nose
and jaw, tiny black bead eyes, painted
features, downcast mouth, thick brows, black
mohair wig, cardboard cylinder body with
wooden feet jointed at ankles to allow
free-standing. Condition: generally excellent.
Marks: M.F. Woods c. (foot). Comments: Mary
Frances Woods, whose portraits of Native
American dolls were made from 1904-1920's.
Value Points: the rarely found doll has superb
sculpting and artistic painting, wears original
flannel blanket.
