10" (25 cm). Bisque socket head with rounded facial modeling, blue glass enamel inset eyes, painted lashes with "dot" highlights, rose blushed eyeshadow, brushstroked brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with outlined lips, blonde mohair wig over Steiner pate, French composition and wooden fully jointed body with very unusual shaping, very wide flat-cut derriere bottom as though for sitting, shaped fold at front lower torso, loose ball joints at wrists, hips and knees, straight wrists, antique woolen school dress, undergarments, lace ruffled cap, shoes, socks, undergarments. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Sie C 3/0. Comments: Jules Steiner, circa 1882, the body style is unique, and may be original although its features seems more indicative of Schmitt et Fils. Value Points: most appealing expression on the petite Series C bebe with lovely painting and blush, unique and unusually detailed body style, antique costume.
