18" (46 cm). Bisque socket head with very plumply modeled cheeks, blue glass sleep eyes that operate from lever at back of head, painted lashes, dark mauve eyeshadow, brushstroked and feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, open mouth with shaded and accented lips, two rows of tiny teeth, pierced ears, antique hand-tied brunette human hair wig over Steiner pate, French composition and wooden fully jointed body with pull-string mama crier. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: J. Sie C 2 St. (incised) Steiner Bte SGDG Bourgoin (red ink script) Steiner 2 Bte SGDG (eyes). Comments: Steiner, circa 1885. Value Points: exceptionally pretty model with beautifully sculpted mouth and teeth, lever sleep eyes, original body with original finish, antique blue velvet and silk dress, lace and silk ruffled bonnet.
