Description
16" (40 cm). Bisque swivel head on kid-edged
bisque shoulderplate, bright blue glass inset
eyes, painted lashes, brushstroked and
multi-feathered brows, accented nostrils and
eye corners, closed mouth with outlined lips,
lambswool wig over cork pate, natural finish
carved wooden body with shapely torso,
dowel-jointing at shoulders, elbows, hips and
knees, bisque forearms, ivory silk jester
costume with tricorn cap and brass bells.
Condition: generally excellent, 3 toes broken
on right foot. Marks: 1. Comments: maker
unknown although the face resembles portrait
model by Dehors, circa 1867. Value Points:
rare portrait model with distinctive
aquiline-shaped nose, elongated face, all
wooden body, wonderful costume.
