Description
7" doll (18 cm). A heavy card box with rose
paper decorations and engraving of little
fur-coated doll, contains within its original
all-bisque mignonette having swivel head on
kid-edged torso, blue glass sleep eyes,
painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils,
open mouth, accented lips, teeth, brunette
mohair wig, peg-jointed arms and legs,
painted high black stockings and brown
slippers. Condition: generally excellent. Marks:
1079-3 S&H dep Germany (doll). Comments:
the presentation was sold in Paris doll shops
such as Au Nain Bleu, circa 1890. Value
Points: the doll wears her original sheer
cotton party dress with elaborate matching
bonnet, undergarments, and owns an
elaborate wardrobe and accessories (some
store original, others made in the home and
added) comprising two additional dresses,
shift, undergarments, knit cape, lavish bonnet,
brush, jumprope, powder puff, soap, and
portfolio with engraving on lid depicting
children playing with doll.
