21" (53 cm). Pressed bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, plumply modeled cheeks and chin, blue glass paperweight inset eyes, dark eyeliner encircles the eyecut, painted lashes, incised eyeliner, mauve blushed eyeshadow, brushstroked and multi-feathered brows, accented eye corners, shaded nostrils, closed mouth with modeled definition between the shaded and outlined lips, impressed dimples at philtrum and lip corners, pierced ears, original French kid gusset-jointed bebe body, bisque hands with individually sculpted fingers and detailed knuckles and nails, antique costume of cream gown with lace and satin trim, undergarments, lace and silk bonnet, shoes and stockings. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: A 9 T. Comments: Andre Thuillier, circa 1882. Value Points: exquisite modeling of the face and hands of the early model bebe, superb quality of bisque and painting, very sturdy original body, lovely antique costume.
