Description
14"h. A wooden doll carriage with elaborately
shaped frame and three-wheeled base is
decorated with original magenta velvet
upholstered that is edged with embossed gilt
paper borders, trimmed with appliqued
embossed paper flower decoupage. The style
of decoration, with applique flowers and gilt
borders, is identical to that of the doll house
furnishings in Lot #47, and is attributed to the
workshops of Denis Badeuille, circa 1865.
Excellent condition, vibrant original velvet
colors perfectly preserved, the carriage has
been stored in an original boutique archive for
over a century.
