Description
20" x 14" station. 14" dolls. A large paper
mache box in the shape of the Salle de Police
(police station) has embossed designs to
simulate shingles, bricks and door. Inside the
box are store six policemen with painted
costumes in the traditional French style, each
with uniquely painted face, moustache, hair.
The parlour game of skittles, in French known
as "jeu de quilles", was very popular in late
19th century France, but few intact examples
remain. Excellent condition, circa 1895.
