Description
22" (56 cm). Pressed bisque swivel head on
kid-edged bisque shoulderplate, very plump
modeling of cheeks and chin, blue enamel
glass eyes with prominent spiral threading,
dark eyeliner encircles the eyecut, painted and
brushstroked brows, accented eye corners,
shaded nostrils, closed mouth with defined
space between the shaded outlined lips,
pierced ears, blonde mohair wig over cork
pate, kid gusset jointed bebe body with bisque
forearms, fingers modeled bent at knuckles
with defined palms and nails, antique maroon
silk gown, undergarments, black silk
stockings, black shoes, floral trimmed straw
bonnet with milliner's label "Jujurieux".
Condition: generally excellent. Marks: F. 9 G.
(block letters, head and shoulderplate).
Comments: Francois Gaultier, circa 1880.
Value Points: rare early model of bebe with
extraordinary modeling of face and hands,
original very sturdy bisque body.
