Description
6" (15 cm). All wooden doll with painted
complexion, hair and facial features, blushed
cheeks, wooden dowel-jointed fully articulated
body. Condition: generally excellent, peg hole
at top of head indicates original (missing) tuck
comb. Comments: Grodnertal, circa 1850.
Value Points: beautiful painting of facial
features and hair on the diminutive doll is
perfectly preserved. The doll is contained in an
early wooden box along with her original
hand-sewn trousseau comprising green silk
dress, three additional skirts, sateen petticoat,
two pairs pantalets, black velvet lace-edged
cape and five miniature bonnets.
