Description
12"h. Standing upon a wooden platform with
paper lithographed flooring is a
bisque-headed doll with grey glass eyes,
painted lashes and brows, accented nostrils
and eye corners, closed mouth with accented
lips, pierced ears, brunette mohair wig, carton
torso, wire upper arms, paper mache lower
arms, wooden flat legs, antique costume. He
stands behind a wooden platform with
decorative paper to suggest draperies, and
posed upon the stand are three wooden
carved dressed dogs. When wound, the man
appears to wind the organ, music plays and
the dogs dance. Excellent condition. French,
circa 1865. A rare and amusing toy in well
preserved condition.
