Description
15" (38 cm). Firmly stuffed black felt doll has
chubby face with swivel neck, black yarn hair
with four tight braids at either side of face,
felt applique eyes and mouth, black bead pupils,
chubby toddler torso with jointed arms and legs.
Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Ars Lenci
(original black cloth label at back torso).
Comments: Lenci, from the original 100 series
introduced in 1920, model 112, nearly identically
costumed dolls were shown in a Lenci ad in
Playthings in 1920. Value Points: in superb
original condition the doll has colorful skirt,
beaded necklace with wooden fetish figures and
carries a black felt duck with felt "grass"
skirt, and amusing features.
