Condition: bisque head and shoulderplate excellent, mechanism functions well, left arm is not original and does not match. Marks: W.H. Cremer, Junr. European Game & Toy Warehouse, 210 Regent Street (paper label on base). Comments: head by Simon and Halbig, with classic 1867 patented body style of Jules Steiner known as "waltzing lady" but actually having the movements and sounds of a bebe; when wound the doll moves forward and around, raises and lowers it arms, and calls "mama". the doll was sold in the famous London toy store of William Henry Cremer prior to 1872. Value Points: rare variation of the patented model that combines the elements of both poupee and bebe, original boutique label.
